Well, we finally made it to the last short poetry film of the series. Thank you to everyone who’s watched and cheered for these little origami characters as they navigated through their glacier lake adventures.

As a kid, whenever it rained I used to imagine what far off ocean or lake the water had evaporated from and how far it had traveled. I guess I still carry a bit of that wonder to this day.

Of all the origami characters I made, the shell was the toughest. It almost broke the series. I did find some videos on how to make origami shells and some were much simpler, but I couldn’t make just any shell. It had to be in a spiral shape.

I made not one, not two, but three different birds for this film. I guess you could call them stunt doubles!

The first bird was a plain regular bird. The second had a red beak. And the third…well, you’ll have to watch the film to see what happens to the third one.

‘moth’ is the first film in my new short poem short film series ‘glacier lake’ and starts out with signs of fall, of transition, and of longing. And moths.
